The Mixed Union of Coiron to Rhône has launched a preliminary study for a Territorial Water Management Project (PTGE) to support the adaptation of the Coiron to Rhône watersheds to the effects of climate change.
This approach includes a part focused on summarizing and acquiring knowledge about water resources, paying special attention to drought events. It relies on analyzing existing hydrological and hydrobiological data, as well as characterizing the territory’s quantitative water balances.
The study is part of a forward-looking and collaborative approach aimed at defining an adaptation strategy and an action plan to address future water management challenges.
Services provided:
- Carrying out an assessment and diagnosis of the territory through interviews with local stakeholders and analysis of their water uses, water withdrawals and returns, as well as agricultural and irrigation needs.
- Conducting a territorial foresight study in response to climate change by examining the evolution of the climate, natural environments, and water uses up to 2050, including a forward-looking analysis of agricultural water needs and territorial vulnerabilities.
- Identifying objectives and developing adaptation pathways to define quantitative water resource management goals and address the identified challenges.
- Developing an adaptation strategy and operational action plan, as well as identifying and evaluating concrete actions to ensure sustainable water resource management.
