Project Description
In order to strengthen the securing of the Medjerda-Cap Bon canal, SECADENORD has initiated a feasibility study on the creation of a new water storage capacity near the El Masri dam.
The objective is to ensure the continuity of drinking water and irrigation water supply while providing greater flexibility for maintenance, cleaning, and repair operations of the canal. The study included the acquisition of additional data (topographic, geotechnical, hydrological, environmental) and a comparative analysis of four storage scenarios representing volumes ranging from 1.2 to 4.8 million m³.
This approach made it possible to examine the most relevant solutions from technical, economic, environmental, and social perspectives, in order to guide the investment decisions of the competent authorities.
Services provided :
- Conducting the complete feasibility study, integrating the technical, economic, environmental, and social aspects of the water storage project.
- Coordinating all stakeholders and facilitating the steering committees (COPIL) throughout the study.
- Mobilizing the teams of the SCP agency in Tunis to carry out a large part of the field services and investigations required for the project (topographic data acquisition was carried out by TDIS Tunis, and geotechnical drilling and testing by GEOCONSEIL Tunis).
- Analyzing and comparing several development scenarios to identify the most appropriate solutions for securing the Medjerda-Cap Bon canal.
