Supervision of hydraulic facilities
Real-time monitoring…
All of SCP’s hydraulic facilities are remotely managed, thanks to a network of 30,000 sensors and detectors, and 600 field actuators all across the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. This equipment is managed, monitored and connected by a total of 320 remote transmission units. Communication channels are provided by cables laid in galleries or along canals, telephone wires, GSM, radio, or secure virtual private networks.
The primary I.T. application used to run this system is housed at SCP’s headquarters, while secondary applications can be found at the company’s 10 operating centres. Hydraulic facilities are monitored remotely and in real time, and the system measures water security and availability in terms of quantity and quality. All data is stored and regularly consulted for reasons of analysis and improvement.
The remote management centre is connected to an on-call system, ensuring that operators are alerted 24/7 in the event of a failure. They can be contacted wherever they are: at the operating centre, in the field (by mobile phone), or at home if a problem occurs outside working hours.
